BRUCE IRVIN

Bruce Irvin is a character in the Tekken fighting game series.

History
Bruce Irvin is highly skilled in the art of Muay Thai. At an early age, Bruce lost his father, mother, and older brother, and he turned to fighting and joined the police force. Bruce was a very skilled American cop and was Lei Wulong's partner and a friend. He also was a role model for children, as shown in his endings. Bruce was sent to Japan to investigate Kazuya Mishima, who was corrupting with the Mishima Zaibatsu. Kazuya arranged for the plane to crash, but Bruce survived. Kazuya's men rescued him, and Bruce, having no memories of what happened, became one of Kazuya's bodyguards. After fighting his old partner Lei, who was sent to find him and arrest Kazuya, Bruce escaped by plane once again, but the plane exploded.
Many thought that Bruce was dead, but in Tekken 5, it was revealed that Bruce had been working for several special units, and he was currently working as a survival technical guidance instructor. He entered The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 in order to test his skills once again.
EndingsIn an urban neighborhood, a boy is punching a sandbag. Three gangsters come and cut the sandbag with a pocket knife. They beat the boy up and take his boxing gloves. Bruce appears and beats up the three gangsters and returns the gloves to the boy. He says "Keep it up, kid." to the boy before walking away.

Fighting Style
Although Bruce and Bryan Fury share some moves, their fighting styles are completely different. Bryan is more of a Brawler who utilizes Modern Kickboxing, where as Bruce employs the "art of the eight limbs" Muay Thai Kickboxing. For example, Bruce can perform a double left kick like Bryan, but he cannot add a right kick or right uppercut to the end. Also, he can add a second left punch to his left-right-left combo, an addition that Bryan has lost after Tekken 4. Bruce cannot perform Run for Cover, only the first kick of that combo, which he has a stronger version of. His trademark left sweep kick to left uppercut is an attack that Bryan could always only half perform.
Bruce is a balanced character for speed and strength, and he can easily vary between high and low attacks.

Trivia
Bruce's sub-bosses include Lei Wulong, Steve Fox, and Kazuya Mishima. In Bruce's Tekken 5 Story mode, he is taunted by Steve Fox at Stage Four: Bruce being a kickboxer and Steve a "real" boxer. The match is a proceed by the basis of "kicks vs punches". Ogre adapts some of Bruce's moves. This speculates that Bruce survived not just the plane explosion, but also Ogre's attack on him. However, it is never stated in Bruce's Tekken 5 Story mode that he was attacked. Because of his tendency to look out for children and his mohawk, some people refer to Bruce as a "Mr. T impersonator." Bruce makes an appearance in Tekken: The Motion Picture when fighting Jack-2. Bruce breaks his fist against Jack-2's steel alloy and Jack-2 knocks him into the water.
