Appearance
Many have noted Raven's similarity to characters played by actor Wesley Snipes. His hairstyle is similar to the character Simon Phoenix from Demolition Man and his clothing, sunglasses, and personality are reminiscent of Blade. However, when Electronic Gaming Monthly asked if the similarities were intentional, Namco stated that they simply wanted a true ninjitsu practicioner and a "cool black guy" for a character and that the similarities were purely coincidental.
Also, the tattoo on his shoulder is a Kanji which translates to Death.

Story
An international intelligence agent considered highly skilled and iron-hearted, codename Raven. Apart from a scar in the shape of an "X" on his face, his details, including age and nationality, are unknown. Raven entered the fifth tournament to find out who or what is behind the event.
Raven makes his first appearance in the opening movie for Tekken 5, as he witnesses the attack on Hon-Maru by Jack-4s while on a mission to look into the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corporation, as well as the subsequent explosion. It seems that he is the first one to report of Heihachi Mishima's supposed demise.
Ending
Raven defeats Jinpachi Mishima, and he watches Jinpachi turn into dust. Afterwards, Raven activates a device in his ear and says, "Mission complete. Returning to HQ." After this, he performs some acrobatic jumps to climb up a cliff, and then he leaps into the air, falling on the top of a plane that suddenly appears. Raven then crosses his arms while standing on the plane as it flies away.

Trivia
Raven's Story mode in Tekken 5 is unusually paced. He does not have a sub-boss at Stage 4 or Stage 7 nor does he fight Devil Jin. He does, however, encounter and fight Heihachi at Stage 8, and he has a different pre-fight scene with Jinpachi. In his Story mode, Raven will occasionally get orders from his commanding officer, highlighted by his encounters with Heihachi and Jinpachi. Raven has a special cut-scene with the ninja manji-leader Yoshimitsu, which is viewed when playing through Story mode with Yoshimitsu and losing to Raven. Raven tries to teach his fellow ninja the unique hand-signs of the kuji-in, but Yoshimitsu has trouble doing this. This cut-scene is a deep contrast to Raven's regularly cold personality. In Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Raven is Sergei Dragunov's first sub-boss. In their interlude, Raven claims that he knows Dragunov's true intentions, and he commands Dragunov to give up and go back to Russia, which Dragunov refuses to do. They fight after this takes place. Although Raven has enough loyalty to his superiors to put his life on the line battling Jinpachi, he does sell them out to Kazuya in Kazuya's Tekken 5 story. In an interlude between Raven and Nina Williams in Nina's Story mode, Raven claims that he has no name, and that some call him Raven, The Dark Talon of Death. Nina then introduces herself and says that "No one who finds out my name lives". When Nina wins the battle, it is revealed that she has apparently killed Raven.
